Clients and prospects often ask why I use WordPress for website development, so I pulled together the top 7 reasons (and fun facts) you should use WordPress for your website.

1. WordPress is a Content Management System (CMS)

WordPress.org is a content management system that is self-hosted, open source and free! You can download WordPress core files and customize the site to fit your personal or business needs. If you can use Word or Google Docs then you can use WordPress.

2. There are two version of WordPress

WordPress.org and WordPress.com and they are not created equal. WordPress.com is a free (or relatively inexpensive) option for freelancers or entrepreneurs who aren’t tech savvy or just need to build a website fast. WordPress.org is a self-hosted version of WordPress that is highly customizable. You’ll need a hosting provider like WP Engine where you can host your WordPress website.
